Meet Makayla

My passion is easing people’s burdens and leaving them a little better than when I found them. I first discovered the healing power of massage through my own journey with chronic pain and fatigue, which inspired me to become a licensed massage therapist in 2019.

In 2021, I expanded my work to include my love for supporting mothers and newborns by becoming a birth doula, followed by postpartum doula certification in 2023. Today, I bring together a variety of massage techniques—Swedish, deep tissue, lymphatic, and more—always listening closely to the body and responding to its unique needs. Sometimes that means firm, focused work; other times it’s light and deeply relaxing. My greatest passion, though, lies in prenatal and postnatal care.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me with my dog, Minnie—often cooking up a nourishing meal in the kitchen or enjoying a refreshing hike outdoors.

At age 17 Melissa was in a car accident that left her with a severely sprained back, whiplash, and several other issues. Thankfully the chiropractor she went to at the time had a massage therapist on staff who did amazing work. Because of this introduction, Melissa sees and uses massage as a way to heal others and relieve pain. She loves to work with people who have injuries or are struggling with chronic pain, as well as those who are looking for ways to take care of themselves and treat their body right!

Melissa was born in Oregon and transplanted to Utah when she was two years old. She loves spending time in the mountains and only wishes that Utah was a little closer to the beach. She is a wife, and a mother of 4. She graduated at the top of her class from the Utah College of Massage Therapy, Lindon campus, in March of 2012. When Melissa Isn’t massaging she loves to perform, travel, play with her kids, and support her friends and family.
